04 Mar VIETNAM VETERANS’ DAY SERVICE 2024
The Vietnam Veterans’ Day Commemoration Service (51st Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War) was held in the Chapel on Sunday 18th August.
Attendees were welcomed by Commander Arthur Skene, RAN, Retired – a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the War Veterans (Narrabeen) RSL sub-Branch.
Prayers were offered by Keith Boog, Pamela Dodd and Peter Yardley all members of War Veterans (Narrabeen) RSL sub-Branch
The Commemoration Address was given by Geoff Green, a Vietnam Veteran and a member of Forestville RSL sub-Branch.
Reverend Keith Walker, Chaplain of the War Vets Memorial Chapel offered the Commemoration Prayer.
Following the laying of wreaths and the recitation of The Ode by Roy Parkinson, President of War Veterans (Narrabeen) sub-Branch, the Last Post and the Rouse were played.
Then followed the National Anthem and Reverend Keith Walker then gave the closing prayer and Benediction.
Afternoon tea was then shared in the Lone Pine Lounge.
